One required practice each student should add to their websites is a personalized playlist of hopeful songs. This can be created on Spotify, YouTube, apple music, or sound cloud. Please add a link to your playlist and provide an explanation for each song.

Song 1: Caution

The killers are a very popular band in my family and loved listening to their music in the kitchen growing up. I especially appreciated Caution and felt inspired by the upbeat music. However, I had not listened to the lyrics until recently. Specifically, the lyrics “cause its some kind of sin to live your whole life on a “might’ve been”‘ as it highlights the song’s focus on a young girl who was stuck in a small town her whole life. Song 2: Simple Song

Another song I used to hear in the kitchen growing up was Simple Song by The Shins. My older brother was a part of a band, and this was the first song they performed. It brings me hope as today I still have the same appreciation I did for it back in elementary school and it reminds me of how my brothers, and I grew into the people we are today. The lyrics are also very powerful as they encourage listeners to courageously face their fears without making huge sacrifices.
